The Ladies would be nothing without you fans having your say. Over the years, so many of you have written in to the BBC demanding another series, which accounts for the Ladies longevity, and for which we cannot thank you enough.

The books work and the radio version is enchanting but this gains nothing at all from being seen. I told Ms Routledge after seeing her in "The Solid Gold Cadillac" how much I had enjoyed it and she said she had no intention of doing it on stage or TV. I am glad that she and Prunella Scales had nothing to do with it (though I have no idea if they were asked to or not).

the tv adaptation can only be described as a joyous triumph !
the visualisations in black and white of the things we have heard described ( such as the tango dancing )...sublime
it so whets the appetite for more of the same...i think immediately of vera..a funeral..and a conservatory !
30 minutes too short .. i would have preferred one hour episodes but i complain not.
i read years ago that the writers wanted to bring this to tv, it has been so worth the wait.
i hope all the radio 4 fans like me find it on itv3 and that it gets fabulous viewing figures
fingers crossed, as most of the tv critics gave it a big thumbs up in the media today

Cannot wait for this to air. I absolutely adore the radio series and have all of the cd which I love playing in the car when going on journeys.
The Ladies are hilarious and just so excruciatingly vile to each other, in an exquisitely mannerly and caring way, of course. They take me back to my childhood, sitting playing behind the sofa and listening to my Mum, Nana and Aunts having pseudo sympathetic conversations and playing oneupmanship. Long live the ladies!

I cannot believe it! I only found out this morning that the series is to be broadcast on television. I have loved listening to the ladies for years and even now I am giggling at some of the 'digs' they said to each other. Roll on Tuesday 3rd x

Forgot to add this to my previous post: The new radio series is avaliable to pre order on Play.com for £6.99. Any news about a DVD release of the TV series?

I'm thrilled about the TV series and the continuation of the radio series. I love Maureen Lipman and Anne Reid but I'm curious as to why Prunella Scales and Patrica Routledge aren't reprising their roles on TV.

Just watched the first TV episode and loved every minute. It captured the mood and humour that has developd in the radio productions perfectly. I shall definately be watching next week and have made a mental note for the 27th April!
