The Ladies would be nothing without you fans having your say. Over the years, so many of you have written in to the BBC demanding another series, which accounts for the Ladies longevity, and for which we cannot thank you enough.

i agree with thelma, dvd asap please.

i absolutely love this show(bearing in mind i have never listened to the radio show)it does not fail to make me laugh,i will be telling my mum about this.episode five is my fave

I think this is the best programme I have seen in a long time, both actresses are fantastic, what I cant understand is why this little gem has been banashed to ITV3 at 10pm and not shown on ITV1 ! I have never laughed so much at a TV programme for a long time.
Well done Anne Reid and Maureen Lipman.

THYNK YOU to both actresses Anne Reid and Maureen Lipman for the absolutely FABULOUS Ladies of Letters.
I had not heard the Radio 4 series and therefore this series on ITV3 came as a complete surprise. I have been laughing out loud at some of the exchanges - and this is quite worrying when one is sitting watching on one's own!

Ladies of Letters is the best "feel good" programme on TV. It is almost unheard of these days to be able to watch a comedy without having to hear that irritating "canned laughter". Ann Reid and Maureen Lipman are to be congratulated on their portrayal of Irene and Vera. I look forward to many more episodes. I had not heard the radio series, or read any of the books but I will be looking out for them now. I am totally hooked on this programme. My husband didn't think it was something he would want to watch, but he was laughing as much as I was, so it must be good. Congratulation to everyone involved.

Congratulations to all concerned in the Ladies of Letters. I have read all the books and have got all audio cds to date. I was apprehensive at the idea of TV but it has to be given 10 out of 10. Last night was hilarious, (The times I have wished to pretend I suffered with Turrets when dealing with certain people) Maureen and Anne have got it just right. I have the same sense of humour as the writers, it is so true to life we can all be bitchy when we feel like it, as long as you can laugh at yourself afterwards.Needs to be released on DVD asap.

March 3, 2009, Florida. Dear Irene and Vera, Although I have come to your lovely (if a little meandering) views on the world, I felt I must drop an electronic line to thank you both for the smiles you have brought to my face. While struggling through life here in post-post-colonial America, it becomes a daily challenge to find either a written word or spoken voice to entertain oneself with (or should that be with which to entertain? Shall have to look that up). I do of course SO wish that I could see the television show with those two somewhat faded actresses doing their level best to bring yet more life (as if that were possible!) to your words, but will have to wait for the wonderful Amazon.com to stock it. Will close now, as the yard people are here to mow the lawn and I have to watch them to make sure they don't steal the fruit while mowing. Yours, in haste, George.

never written in before but praise where praise is due so, i just love ladies of letters can not wait for tuesday evenings now. would also like to be able to buy it on dvd. Thank you ladies for such an enjoyable watch.

REALLY ENJOYABLE BUT I HAVE NOT LAUGHED AS MUCH AS I DID WITH THE RADIO SERIES.

Well done on a very funny and 'feel good factor' series. I look forward to watching it on my iplayer every week and have enjoyed every one!
